Beginning therapy can come with practical questions. Below are answers to some of the most common ones. If you don’t see yours here, you’re welcome to reach out.
As a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, my services are often covered under extended health benefit plans that include psychotherapy.
Coverage varies by provider and plan. I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to confirm:
Whether psychotherapy is covered
Whether services from a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) are eligible
Your annual reimbursement amount
A receipt will be provided after each session for submission to your insurance provider.
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you.
I require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee.
Exceptions may be made in cases of sudden illness or emergency circumstances. If this occurs, please contact me as soon as possible so we can discuss next steps.
This policy aligns with the professional standards set by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
Confidentiality is a foundational part of psychotherapy. What you share in session is kept private and will not be disclosed without your consent, except in specific circumstances required by law.
Your personal information is stored securely and handled in accordance with professional and legal standards in Ontario.
Peak Insight Therapy provides scheduled outpatient psychotherapy and is not a crisis service.
If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a crisis, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
